The back garden in our new house is artificial grass over a type 2 base. Is there any reason why we wouldn't be able to use a ground spike for our rotary washing line?
Can't upload a pic but was thinking of something like the screw into the ground jobs you get on eBay?
Cut hole in grass, dig small round hole, put spike into postcrete.
The spikes are normally plastic and meant to be screwed into soft ground or concreted in for sandy / gravely ground.
Parasol base had been the plan if a spike was a no go. The spike for the line was concreted in at the old place so woukd be buying a replacement. Thought the plastic ones would probably be made of cheese so had looked at some metal ones with a longer looking spike with a screw thread at the bottom.
I just used a piece of plastic tubing about a foot long and just pushed it into the ground, pulling it out a few times to get rid of the earth in the middle. Worked fine for years, washing line freely rotated.
