The music itself is actually alright, until the chorus. However, I can't see it having much international appeal.

thats really f@@@ed up 🙂

I get a mental image, of you know, like was it the Bond film "the man with the golden gun" where 2 school girls beat up a Dojo, i can see stage invaders finding out that they are 3rd Dan in kicking the daylights out of naughty stage invaders before the roadies can get to them 🙂

Love it! You need to have watched a lot of animé, which often has music like that in it, and there's a metal/Loligoth crossover thing going on too. Great fun. And the girls are cute, too, they look a bit like my friends Meiko and Yumi!
Not that they dress like that, as far as I know.

If you want some proper Japanese weirdness check this out. Kinda like Primus or Chili Peppers but on some kind of Japanese acid, I like it 😆

It's been a while since i hung out with any goth types.

CountZero.... whats a "LoliGoth" then ?

Is it a Goth with a fetish for hello kitty, or something like that.

🙂

Edit.
I wonder if "Vow Wow" are still going, 80's metal, Japanese version of the big hair glam look of the 80's.....i feel old now 🙂

Loligoth is a Harajuku style thing; Lolita Goth, lots of frills, lace and extravagant makeup, like a Goth, with some leather, etc, but brighter colours, rather than all black. Teens dressed as little girl dolls, sort of, actually like a Victorian saloon singer:

Some tend towards the all black as well, it's quite a mixture of styles. The three girls in Babymetal are a pretty good example.

Been google-fuing loligoth 🙂

Now up to date on yoof culture, didn't see any loligoths last time i was in Whitby, didn't see any Goths, maybe because the sun was out.

Babymetal=loligoth=goth+hello kitty.

It used to be easy keeping up, heavy metal, thrash metal, speed metal, black metal, death metal, industrial metal, heavy goth, goth and now loligoth and i suspect more sub divisions 🙂

It's worse than mountain bike pigeon holing 🙂

More sedate 80's metal
bit of vow wow helter skelter

Couldn't disagree with you more! 😆

Had a quick listen in the wee hours, but it's much better now I can play it at volume, especially as my housemate who likes to wake me up at half eight on a Sunday morning with shitty techno has a stonking hangover. 😈

Hats off to Pigface for bringing this to our attention, _tom_ also; my bass guitar is Primed and ready! 😀

Loligoth is really just a clothing fashion, mostly in Japan with the Harajuku crowd, it's not so much a music thing, although various bands in Japan, particularly girl bands, have an element of Cosplay, this is just a metaaaaaaal! variation. Shonen Knife are a more straight-forward female rock band, without the Cosplay.

It's funny, I was reading an interview with Marty Friedman (former Megadeath guitarist) today - he moved to Japan years ago, because he felt it was less musically constraining. They're not so rigid with their genres, apparently.

I've been listening to this on and off day, my 3yr daughter loves it and shouts 'again again' when it ends, lol.

Shonen knife are playing my local next week... I'm definitely going, they were reputed to be kurt Cobains favourite band as I recall, should be a cracking night.

Awesome, liked that.

The music itself is actually alright, until the chorus

I thought the exact opposite, it was pretty generic hard rock/metal till the chorus.

From Metal: A Headbanger's Journey - great film whether you're a metalerist or not.

Japanese rock chicks are awesome.

Didn't see any of those in the OP's video. Just some puppets shouting stupidly to some generic metal. Very boring.

At least Avril Lavine gone lillgoth has the decency to be irritating

At the gigs these days.....

Years ago, Monsters of Rock, getting smacked in the face within seconds of ripping off the first chords, by a 2ltr plastic strongbow bottle, half full of piss was normal.

Hope the poor dears management team have briefed them on western culture.

Or has health and safety clamped down on this sort of thing.
Sonisphere to the Electric Ballroom, will they make it alive 🙂

Too true, s'why I don't go by genre, only the noise the artist/band makes. One of my favourite bookshops puts the books on the shelves in alphabetical order, that's it. Record shops should do the same.
I was listening to the bloke from Keraang on 6Music, whittering on about how Metallica aren't suitable for Glastonbury because the sort of people who go there won't like a heavy rock/metal band! I thought he was a patronising, condescending arse.

You might not like it - but the lead girl can definitely sing.

About as "mad" as Colin Hunt.

MU is what I'd call mad
