I'm having proper problems with the AVG antivirus installed on my Laptop. I'm running V8.5 and it says I can't download any updates as it says my installation is corrupt. "OK" I say. "I'll uninstall and re-install".

When I try to uninstall an error message comes up and won't let me. I tried downloading Revo uninstaller, but this uses AVGs own uninstall program which is the problem.
How can I get rid of AVG, and what should I install (for free) instead?
Try Avast
2nd Avast. Can you uninstall from windows add/remove programs
I tried add/remove and that takes you straight to the built in uninstaller.
If I'm ever rid of AVG I'll have a look at Avast then!
I had that problem, had to rebuild my whole pc and install advast. It's pretty hard to uninstall, looked everywhere and couldn't find a way of doing it. Back up all your files then wipe and start again.
