I work in an engineering office but aren't a trained engineer in the strictest sense. For my own interest and maybe in anticipation of going on to a college course for AutoCAD use, does anyone out there know of any free downlaods that "mimic" AutoCAD? I'd just like to have a play at doing some drawings and getting the hang of it.
Cheers
I suggested tigercad yesterday, I've used it a few times now.
I think, well they certainly used to offer a Student version of Autocad for not a lot of money. That should get you started. What sort of engineering is it as Autocad isn't a great 3-D modeler.
For own interest would like to have a look at 3-D so what would you sugest. However think I shall try to walk before I can run.
Cheers guys
We're an Architechtural and Surveying Practice and we use Autocad and Revit for building design. We work closely with one of the larger construction firms and they want to use 4-D programmes - x, y, z & time - to give staged drawings and cost expenditure estimates.
That is as far as my knowledge of CAD packages go.
