Need to buy a new battery for my old PB G4 12in which still works great.

I got one for my Macbook from a similar site. Was listed as UK site but based in HK. Also battery wasn't quite what it said on ad, nearly screwed my 'puter.
Get genuine apple part only.
have a trawl on ebay, lots to choose from, most are selling pretty much the same thing.
pick through the wording quite carefully, make sure that the battery is actually made up of new cells, seemingly some can be made up of salvaged cells from old packs.
A thorough trawl can turn up batteries that have a few more amp/hours than standard(5200mAh instead of 4800mah) and are pretty much the same price. I got mine from a seller call BT-flash (chinese seller but shipping from a uk warehouse) works fine although my one is slightly out of shape and doesn't fit as neatly as it should.

That's from Apple themselves so new, warrantied etc. Pricey.. but it's the genuine article.
Cant remember the site name, but the people I bought my G4 17" PB from suggested an online source. Give them a call and ask who they get theirs from.

Bought a MBP battery from a place in KY via Ebay. Looks the part when it comes, even down the the serial numbers. As soon as you fit it you realise it's not the genuine item. Not a snug fit in the machine, and the alloy is a marginally different colour. After nearly a year, it's already hosed, but then that's possibly because it's rarely not plugged into the power supply these days.
Buy genuine.
