Has any one managed to get it run successfully?
I’ve managed to install OK and I can get the service to run, but when I run http://localhost it dose not work.
Googling for a solution suggest changing the port value, but to what!
That’s why I’m asking, what port value have other people used successfully.

Try http://localhost:8080 just in case you chose the single user option

Get up a command window and type "netstat -an" check for a LISTENer on port 80 and also see what the "local address" value is. If present and the local address is 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1 then all is well and perhaps your firewall is blocking. If not present then apache is either not running correctly or is listening on another port.

P.S Vista blows goats 🙂

Tried turning off the firewall? Shouldn't really matter, but the windows firewall is a bit sh*t.

Standard installation should be port 80 at a guess.

See how you get on with WAMP

If it's as good as it's Mac equivalent (MAMP), then it should be a piece of pish to get working.

If you're going try a Wamp, I would use Xampp They have a version for vista, and a nice and responsive support forum.

Turn off the Windows Firewall. I also had this problem with Apache on Windows Vista.
