MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I bought a tumble dryer off ao.com 15 months ago.
It seems to have a faulty thermostat and started getting very hot when drying, it actually melts any fleeces or similar. We have stopped using it due to the fire risk.
When I went online and looked at the customer services section, it stated that I should contact the manufacturer in event of a fault, which is obviously BS, as we all know. So that makes me think they are going to rubbish in a Currys/PC World style.
It also states that it has a 1 year guarantee, which again is BS as it will come under a 2 year warranty as per Article 50 of the TEU.
Anyone had any dealings with them? Is it going to be as painful as I suspect?

I don't think that is true as UKs existing law met the requirments in enough places that the full EU guidelines did not need to be implemented!

So the end result is the same then.
You're making this harder that it need be, just contact the manufacturer.
We had similar recently. We initially spoke to Hoover who couldn't fix the washer dryer for 2 weeks. We called AO explained the problem and had a replacement delivered by the end of the day. The washer dryer was only 3 months old though.
They couldn't have been better for customer service.
just contact the manufacturer.
The wife already has and they told her to speak to AO.
Speak to AO, see what they say.
I contacted them about our Nespresso machine which needs really frequent descaling - fortnightly until we bought a water filter jug to provide it with water.
They were a bit shit, to be honest.
They just told me to contact the manufacturer and gave me an incorrect phone number. When I told them that my contract was with them and not the manufacturer the bloke ummed and aaaahed before saying that they prefer to do it this way and said to ring back if I had any problems.
It's put me off using them in future to be honest. Previous experience with AO has been very good though in terms of price, delivery etc. so perhaps this was just a blip.
We had an issue with a Samsung washing machine bought from ao, Samsung were doing diagnostics and waiting on parts as it was an electrical fault and was going to take 2 weeks to get the new wiring bits. Contacted CEO and explained delays and washing build up with young kids as customer service were going off a standard process saying we had to wait for Samsung, we had a new machine next day. Use them in preference to John Lewis now for appliances.
Good with faulty mobiles for me
Damaged our flooring on an install which the guy photographed and acknowledged at the time but they had a resolution process designed to frustrate and hope you give in (We did)
