Ciprofloxacin. 1 tablet should do it.

I always take a packet when I go to 3rd world countries. Can get it by private prescription, which is cheaper than NHS.

probably that macdonalds you ate the other day. There were probably a few bogies and bum nuts added to it.

ton:
Am in my second week off work with food poisoning. I have recent experience!!!!
Try and starve the b*ggers out, i.e. water, odd plain bisciut/toast, fruit, and keep off dairy stuff. Flat coke is an isotonic fluid so keep it going.
We all had it, and last week didn't eat from sunday evening ( last feeling ok ) to a small bowl of soup wednesday. Luckily, body told me it didn't want food so wasn't tearing up the kitchen wondering what to eat. My whole food for 8 days was 2 bowls of soup, 2 light fish meals then it all kicked off again....
It wasn't a 'normal' bug, felt really off too, headache, generally rough and that lasted all week. Then sunday just gone, runs came back again. Uncontrollable. Bl*ddy awful - again!!!
Went to doc's, have been signed off this week. Interestingly, she gave different advice about food.
1. Eat bananas ( and tomatoes) - high in potassium, good for you apparently.
2. Eat carbohydrates, bread, pasta, and also eat what you feel like.

The last comment is a bit odd, but I know when really rough, I didn't 'feel' like anything, so I guess she's saying listen to your body.

It's the first time ever I've been this rough for this long, definitely not a 24hr job, and only had dihorrea twice ( though awful and totally uncontrollable - yuk) The rest of the time felt simply rough with it. Most odd.
Can't wait to hear back from Environmental Health......
yours no longer living in the loo....
Q

ps.... I think I remember you're in Scotland, I'm in Devon, so doubt it it's a shared bug!

So, just to rewind a little. Hora said that bicarb of soda tore him a new arsehole after he took it to relieve bloatedness. TJ lol'd. Obviously I am missing something?

After the Bicarbonate of Soda episode last night I am firmly on the ropes. If this virus comes along I can see me being knocked out!

Me and a number of colleagues have been suffering from something that has given us a bad head for several days, sore throat and a dodgy tummy. Too many for it not to be some kind of virus I reckon.

Count me in also- got it Monday after slating the kids about feeling ill because they had been to bed too late, not drunk enough fluid etc etc!!
Worst was I was due to take 3 clients to the races with no option but to get some immodium down me and man up!
How happy was I that the lunch laid on was a seafood platter! Saying that I won £60 so cant be all bad.

I've had to deal with a tsunami of vomit from my 6 year old for the last 24 hours. The next 24 hours consist of laundry and cleaning non stop 🙁

There's ALWAYS a virus going around, thats what they do.

24 hours of no food, just water. you'll be right as rain

Last time I got it I did 5 days, yes 5 whole 24 hour periods, with no food and just 1 litre of water for the duration, anything greater quantity forced itself back out of either end. It then took me the whole weekend to rehydrate and return to normal human form. Could barely make it to the phone to call the missus and spent several hours asleep on the bathroom floor as I couldn't risk the distance across the hall!
