i've applied for a job lecturing, did it in the early 90's at a uni

its sports science related. salary seems a bit pants, but could live with it considering the holidays.

any comments re' the working environment, workload etc?

Conditions no where near as good as at a Uni, money poor, workload can be pretty heavy depending on whether you do night classes or not.

level of benefit depends on the courses you will be teaching on:
If its the pre 16 stuff you will have a load of chavs chucked out of school
If it A levels you will have reasonable kids (in general, though you will still have a contingent of school rejects)
If its BTEC then you will have a mix of the above.

The hols are not as good as in school but class contact stops at summer half term for most courses.

49 days plus weekends off here. Less said about the job the better though! Pay scale any where from 20k to 32k depending on qualifications, experience and how desperately they need you.

The type of student you have will make a massive difference to the job. The difference betwen very rewarding and not wanting to do it anymore, that big a difference.

problem i see is that sports science at college is of **** all use in the real world. you ain't going to be working with the Arsenal coaches or bradley wiggins. so from a motivational point of view to a certain extent i'd be throwing bricks on a pile rather than building a wall. maybe.

PQ is a stud

PQ's humping students so hard he has bruised balls. FACT.

I texted him last week about a ride and to see where/what he was upto....got a text back, just said 'ballbag deep-call you later'

He's like that Robin Askwith fella.
