Hi,

I manage a comprehensive VoIP system at work, it integrates with AD, allows conference calls, has a very capable soft phone, also supports hard phones as SIP clients etc. All outgoing calls go out via a SIP trunk. In short, its great. I primarily use a wireless headset as it gives me both hands free etc.

I would quite like the same functionality at home, but obviously not on the same scale. Soft phones would be great, a physical phone as well for when the computers aren't powered on and ability to use a wireless headset would be good. A system with an iPhone client would be great also. Perhaps outgoing calls would go out via ADSL while incoming calls would be received on the BT line.

Is anyone doing this already? I've seen Asterix mentioned a few times which looks like an option.

Asterix was the one I was going to suggest. Never used it, but I've a mate who implemented it at home and swears by it.
