Do you think this will catch on ?
Should we be watching our national team on terrestrial tv ?

I know its just a run out for the lads and a chance for Fabio Capello to try new players in effect.
I hear its £4.99 pre order - £11 on the day ?
Download speeds and peak time internet usage to cope with on top ?

I object to having to pay to watch an England match on pay-TV.

I object even more to the idea of having to sit for 90 minutes watching it on a computer screen with relatively poor resolution.

I hope the morons who dreamt up this idea lose a load of their cash, and we get back to having England matches on terrestial TV.

In fairness the TV rights belong to the Ukraine FA. They sold them to Santantantatata who, after a stupidly naive notion that they could take on Sky, promptly went bust. There's then a bunch of TV rights hanging around with nowhere to go. These guys picked them up for however much and are broadcasting on t'Internet. It's a bit of a pain but to be honest the rights were up for grabs. Terrestrial broadcasters could have snapped them up at the Santantatanata firesale but chose not to. Had it been a meaningful game they probably would however as the England team are already packing for 2010 it is just a bit of a run out and won't attract the same viewer numbers as a nail-biting must win. It can be listened to on Radio 5 for free.

If I could be @rsed then I could deposit £10 into my bet365 online bookie's account which would then allow me to watch the stream. Then withdraw the £10, not sure if I can be bothered though.

Gets the football off my screen, which is a big plus for me.

Must be annoying though.

However...

I object even more to the idea of having to sit for 90 minutes watching it on a computer screen with relatively poor resolution.

It's probably better resolution than a normal TV though, just on a smaller screen.

I've booked it, 4.99, linked into the telly just to avoid cum dancing shennanigans. Though I will probably tune in to see Zoe Lukker do her bit...

I think its discusting that the national game is on the internet. All of Englands games should be on terrestrial tv. Including cricket and rugby. Money grabbing B*******s

Not really that much money, what they expecting 300,000 viewers? At a fiver a pop that's only 1.5mil, didn't they initially arrange to sell to sultana for £5m?

That's 3.5m they are losing out on.

back to the original question:

unlikely, I hardly watch England when they're on terrestrial telly as it is.

I am an Englishman, and I like The Beautiful Game, but I just can't bear to watch England.

Not since my team went into freefall and stopped supplying England players (although you could say 3 current England players came through the ranks (and one more through the revolving door) at my club; they're not there any more though)

Club or Country? Club every time
