We will be in touch
So, I have a Marantz CD player than displays no disc most of the time. I found a YT video of a guy with a similar problem on a different model, which he fixes by adding a resistor across R112Â
So can anyone find the R112 resistor name on the CD57 manualÂ
and tell me the equivalent on the CD5400 manual https://www.vintageshifi.com/repertoire-pdf/pdf/telecharge.php?pdf=Marantz-CD-5400-Service-Manual.pdf
TLDR: can anyone tell me how to increase the focus gain on the CD5400
If you zoom in on the 9th page it's below the chip TDA7073AT which sits below the word SERVO!
Cheers, can anyone decipher the same resistor on the other schematic?
As far as I can tell, it doesn't look to be as simple as that. That said, I don't know how CD players work...
The CD57 uses a TDA7073 whereas the CD5400 does not.
The CD5400 has a TA2125AF with some pins labeled focus, which looks promising but there are no associated resistors. One of these pins comes from the DSP chip (TC94A14FA) which advertises "Capable of automatic adjustment function of focus and tracking servos for loop gain, offset and balance." and "Built-in focus and tracking servo control circuit." Which might suggest it's all automatic with no scope for adjustment.
The DSP does have a pin with the description "Focus error signal input pin.", a TA2127 feeds this and there are discrete (resistors etc) here that could *possibly* be adjusted but really, I'm guessing here...
Does it read properly when you push the disc down then?
Woah, cheers Sagey, yes it does read when pressed
