Newer ones are much improved, I think - mine you have to hold the lens in place with your fingers while pressing the shutter release with your nose 🙂
I had one, the composer.
They're good if you've got plenty of time to compose a shot, not so good if you need to switch aperture quickly, plus focusing especially when you have the lens of axis is tricky without a focusing screen.
Having said that some people do some great work with theirs.
