I'm looking for freeeware for adding lights and some basic rendering. Dont really want 30 day trial ones.

Try [url= http://www.suplugins.com/index.php?p=home ]Podium[/url] - the free version doesn't expire but you can't directly export high res images. Depends what you want it for - if screen grabs are OK then you're in business.
I find LightUp more intuitive to use but the trial version for that is time limited.

There's a free version of IDX Renditioner, limited to low res output I think but should be fine for trying things out.
