long shot I know, but what kick pedals do you use?
I've broken the link connecting the chain to the footplage on my pedal & I'm after mending it with a new one.
I already have a double pedal that I can't use properly so I'm definitely only after a single pedal
Depends what your budget is...
low 🙁 under £60
not much point spending too much when I can learn to play the double pedal I already have 😉
Take a look at the Pearl P120P (pro version, not the flimsier P120), which can be had for around £60; or the DW 4000. Gibraltar do something in that sort of price range, too. Although everything seems to be slightly shoddier quality in recent years, Pearl pedals (and stands) are traditionally very heard wearing and have most spares available if they do fail. You should get a fairly good idea of how well stuff is made just by getting your hands on it, but I reckon that the P120P would serve you well for your budget.

hmm, that looks good - and I've bought from them before, in person rather than ebay, as they're just down the road from work. Friday afternoon I think...
cheers Three Fish 🙂
I've been using a Premier one for years. Single spring but double chain. Looks simple and indeed it is but compared to most others I've used (Premier old 252, Ludwig speed king, pearl etc) it's nice and light and fast. I can do triplets quite happily and can keep things going in such a way thaa some people have even thought I had double pedals. The only maintenance it has needed was a touch of grease on the bearings after many years.
I picked up a P2000C eliminator pedal from ebay about 5 years ago for £45 posted, worth keeping an eye out for, as it's the best pedal I've ever used.
I had a P120P before and it was a very good pedal, but the 2000 is just that bit better in every way, I'm a very heavy footed player and have had no issues with Pearl pedals full stop, Mapex on the other hand, I wouldn't touch with a 10' barge pole now, utter rubbish!
I got myself a Tama Iron Cobra last year off Ebay, for about 60 or 70 quid.
It's fine, though quite heavy feeling. It has some adjustment available to it, but to be honest, I can't be bothered faffing with it too much.
My brother has a Pearl Eliminator, which I've had a go on. It seems quite nice, but the changeable cam thing just seems like a faff too far.
