Both of us usually uber healthy eaters, but her hormones are telling her she needs lots of carbs..and chocolate..and hagen das!! Even had chips on a roll the other night (unheard of usually) and munched our way through a pack of chocolate digestives in a night.
Finding it quite difficult to resist eating stuff if its there and she is eating it. I don't mind her eating what she wants as I know she is normally healthy and will revert back to this afterwards. Do I just need to MTFU and have stronger will power or just give in and get fat with her in sympathy? ๐
you need to maximise the exercise you get pre-birth as you'll be getting very little for at least 6 [s]months[/s] years after
And yeah, SlimTFDown
I am Ok on that front, cycle to work every day, train karate twice a week & train weights twice a week.
I have a diagnosis for you.
You are soft in the head. ๐
yup, you need to get pre-birth fit, not only from a point of view of being on the go all the time, but the distinct lack of sleep which is coming your way. Learn how to cat nap, and get back to sleep quickly at all times of the night, but. congratualations by the way, and good luck. ๐
I did. I put on a stone and a half! There were other factors as well but they are just excuses. The boy is now 14 months old and I have just got down to my pre pregnancy weight. He is just starting to walk now so I expect a bit more weight to drop off in the coming months.
๐
Yes indeed, in the 9 months of mrs blobby's pregnancy and the first 12 months after I put on about a stone and a half. Mostly just from lack of training and eating junk high carb stuff due to tiredness. Only took about 3 months to get rid of the weight though.
I actually lost weight during my wife's pregancy as I was cooking more and going away less but that all went back on with interest once the wee fellow arrived.
Getting better now he usually sleeps through the night and is old enough to go for longish rides in the Chariot. It wa sa very unhealthy first 12 months though.
Nope - surprised so many have tbh
A new one on me
I did not eat post baby like i was breast feeding either even though i did cook special foods [like rice puddings] for the mother
It's harder after birth, tiredness makes you very susceptible to junk food snacking. In addition, I experienced what felt like a massive drop in testosterone just after my daughter was born. It was just a feeling I got and I don't know if there is any science behind it. I suppose it might make sense biologically to encourage nurturing. I just felt less competitive, less driven, the other obvious symptom, a bit kind of flabby and meh. It came back soon enough, but I'm just wondering if anyone else went through this.
No, but I lost a stone in the year after my daughter started eating. Little beast kept stealing my food once she'd finished hers. Humph.
Yup, about 5kg. Each time. Three times.
D'oh...
my youngest is learning to ride her bike now, so I'm getting lots of exercise running around the streets catching her before falling over. (hasnt got the idea about putting feet on ground when stopping, even though on the balance bike she is ace.)
if anything all the weird stuff mrs rocket was eating sent me the opposite direction and I ate healthier than ever
Because I could ๐
Wasn't so much of a problem pre-birth as I was still getting out on my bike.
The three months since RBIT Jr MkII arrived, OTOH...
My missus could eat all the food I would cook for her (3rd tri), so I ended up eating for 2 as well ๐ I got fatter.
