Finally joined the world of smart phones, is there a decent (and free) training log (android) app? i know i can just use my calendar but wondered if anything worth looking at. Cheers

Everytrail is good too - better website IMO though to some extent it depends what you want it to do.

I think they're pretty much all very similar. I use RunKeeper but not sure it's available for Android.

Another vote for Endomondo, wife uses it on I-phone and I use on Blackberry and it is very good. They have just updated their android version to fix some bugs and add functionality.

Adidas MiCoach is great if you are aiming towards a target. You can set up a plan and then, whilst you are running (or whatever) it will shout at you to speed up/slow down etc. Worked great for training for my first marathon last year. Hooks up with their excellent website as well so you can see all your stats etc.

I use Motion-X GPS, although I'm on iPhone and have no idea if there's an Android version.

That aside, there's a free and a paid for version, I've got the paid version as for £1.79 it's amazing value.
It tracks your position (obviously) but also speed, altitude, gradients and the usual averages. Tracks can be viewed on a map, emailed (to then upload into mapmyride etc), posted to facebook/twitter and you can even get it to post your position every X minutes which is handy if the missus is worried when you're out on your own.
It does have a voice coaching thing too but I turned that off due to never doing the same route twice.

So there you go, a handy review of an app you may not be able to use!!
