We will be in touch
Am really struggling with a situation and would greatly appreciate any input from people that work with dementia sufferers, particularly in a nursing/care home capacity.
Would obviously not want to go into detail on here but my e-mail is in my profile.
Thank you.
Good luck.
My dad has had dementia for about 6 years now; not a nice illness.
Tandem Jeremy is old and senile and knows about dementia. I'm sure he'll be wheeled past soon
I used to know about it , but have forgotten most of it.
Sadly its the hidden side of the elderly and the NHS,hope everything works out well.
Thanks. It's such a cruel illness.
my gran, who turned 98 on tuesday, has had it for about 10 years now. Started as short term memory loss.
Drives me nuts and upsets me deeply in equal measure. She's in a home.
Thanks for the replies and thanks also to the people who e-mailed me. You've all been very kind.
Off on holiday tomorrow so will reply to e-mails in a week's time, shall be totally chilled by then š
CG ā feel free to email if you need help or advice out of the public gaze ā Iām a community mental health nurse working with older peoples mental health and Dementia is my specialist subject ā like I say feel free - also Tandem Jeremy works in the same area and seem to know his stuff
Try and enjoy your hols and leave troubles at home (Farther in law with vascular dementia rang us in France once to ask were the back door key was)
Thank you breakneckspeed, I will do that. Sad you have personal experience as well as professional though.
