I can't get Google maps on my SD card and its taking up a big chunk of my phones memory. Anyone know of any alternatives that can be saved to SD?

Mapdroid might work for you. Decent vector mapping, but no searches, rout planning, directions etc. Maps are downloaded to SD card though.

Navdroyd - free maps stored on SD, route planning, voice directions. It's a bit clunky, has no postcode database. I have it for continental use where I don't want to pay for data roaming.

I am using osmand, It supports open street map image and vector formats. Vector maps are a bit slow on my wildfire...but it's open source so maybe I will do some fiddling
