If he doesn't and he wins he'll have earned some serious respect. He's another of those British sportsmen who you never feel has been completely tested, yet is lauded as the best ever. I have no doubt he's good, it's exactly how good that remains to be seen.

what time is the fight on , khan has been training hard and if it goes the distance i think his fitness and age will show. Berrera could easy cause an upset though. all those not paying £15 try justin tv or iraq goals .

Peregrine don't like him or something.

20 fights.

One defeat.

Most wins were knockouts.

Come on Amir!

Fair play to him for having the balls to fight someone like Barrera. It's his whole career in one fight really. If he wins he's back on the road to being world champion, if he loses it's all over.

Got ringside seats for this. Taking a few clients along. Really looking forward to it, been a Barrera fan for years. Also looking forward to seeing Enzo Mac fight too.

Barrera was a great fighter. Past his prime methinks. It's a win win situation for Khan, if he beats Barrera he beats a legend. If he loses - oh well he was beaten by the legend, he's still learning. Khan is a stylish, entertaining fighter but bloody hell is he hyped.

I hope Khan knocks seven shades of shite out of him

Is that anything like blind patriotism? Does it override any sense of objectivity?

Khan isn't in the same class as Barrera, he drops his guard just like his idol Naseem Hamed and we all know what happened to Hamed... I wonder if Khan will risk sitting his Mum at ringside again?

Gnargnar - that win win thing is exactly what I said to mrsdezb.
No-one really knows until they fight whether Amir can take the pressure Barrera will put on him. Can't see Khan winning by KO though - only 1 KO on Barrera's record - by Pacquiao, the greatest fighter of this era.
Funny though, that Prescott fella really did get lucky catching Khan cold - I've seen a couple of his fights and he is pretty crap.

Prediction (I never get them right) - Barrera in 6 rnds.

Khan is a prize knob who thinks he's the best thing since Ali.

He hasn't had a proper fight yet and the first decent fighter he took on put him on his ass.

Barrera is at the end of is career now too, so he'd better win or he'll go the way of Audley Harrison.

I hope he gets 7 shades knocked out of him.

Come on Barrera!!!!!

Think Khan should win meself. With his joke chin and bell-end personality it's easy to forget just how talented he is. Wonderfully gifted offensive fighter. I reckon Barrera is properly finished and Khan can take a decision.

Can't see it mattering much in the long term, though. There's glass-jawed and then there's Khan's chin, such a debilitating weakness. He mightget to a world title but he won't be able to operate at the top level for long with that beard.

The clash was unfortunate, but Khan did impress, with less flash and a much better guard.

TKO my arse, that was winning by head butt, Khan is very lucky he managed to get that cut in at the beginning. Did anyone listen to the Q + A with Barrera after the fight, he said that he couldn't see on his left side, but, more importantly, he said that he couldn't feel Khan's punches, that they had no power. Barrera only managed to get one combo in that I saw, and that rocked Khan, who immediately released a flurry of point scorers that did nothing to Barrera.
What really pigs me off is the arrogant t*sspot saying "I hope this has silenced my critics...!" I would've loved to have seen him three rounds later if Barrera hadn't been so put off...Unfortunately for Khan the World Champions belt is not awarded for dancing and speed-ball b*tch-slapping, but hey, what am I talking about, he can keep practising his lucky head butts, innit.

so do you think Barrera should have won, or should they have declared it a draw?

Barrera might not have been rocked by Khan's power but he could do nothing about his speed - cut or no cut
and he's a boxer FFS, of course he's arrogant
his display was convincing enough for me that he could have won the fight - Barrera only had one chance and that was to catch Khan's glass jaw

so it would have been a lucky punch against 'speed-ball bitch-slapping' that would have decided the fight 😛

Lost Johnny get a grip. Barrera obviously couldn't handle Khan's power and hand speed. He is hardly going to admit that he can't cope, Barrera has a great chin but he was feeling those punches, he is a legend but he is undoubtedly long past his best. If it had gone longer Barrera would just have got more of a thrashing.

Khan will never silence his critics but with knobs like you about, who can blame him for being pleased when all his hard work pays off. He has swallowed his pride and gone off to the states to train with one of the best coaches in the world. Anyone with the faintest clue about boxing can see that he has improved dramatically and that is down to talent and hard work.

Anyway, speedball bitch slapping and a decent chin worked out fine for Calzaghe didn't it?!

the World Champions belt is not awarded for dancing and speed-ball b*tch-slapping

Actually that is exactly how a belt is won. You do realise boxing is scored on points? The more b*tch slapping the more points.

This isn't some superheavyweight toe to toe weight division?

Khan was impressive, there is no other word for it. The cut was unfortunate, but Khan was quick, solid and did everything a good boxer should (not get hit much and hit them alot).

So he's got a glass jaw, thats why he kept his hands up and defended so well in the few times he had to.

All fair points chaps, I was still disappointed at how it ended from last night, shouldn't have vented, but there you are.
Except for this...

Khan will never silence his critics but with knobs like you about

Quite unnecessary comment Shandy, you don't know me at all.

I wasn't a critic of Khan before this, was gutted when he was downed last time, and I can see that he has improved, and unfortunately we won't be able to see what would have happened should it have gone on.

just watched the fight, cheers for the link. Great site!

Khan was like a different fighter! Kept all the best bits but dropped the show. Was a shame about the cut but the clash was pretty much 50/50.

It meant that Barrera should have been a bit more dangerous (never back a mexican or cuban boxer into a corner) as he would have known he could not go 12 rounds so had to hit Khan for a knockout but he still couldn't get close. Was always on the defensive.

So you're sorry for being a bit of a knob, but you don't like being called on it?! Did you have a few drinks?

Being called "a bit of a knob" for being out of line I wouldn't have minded, you made it a personal attack when you said "knobs like you..." Like I said you don't know me, and I've admitted my mistake, what more do you want?. Drinks; yes last night, none today.

How big were Khans gloves? they might as well of sent him in with a shield!
Still not convinced, the only thing you cant train in a fighter is his chin and he doesnt have one.
He may be a world champion one day if they find another old man with not much punch left for him to fight. Only hyped so much because of his ethnic origin, Calzaghe was a world champion for 10 years and retired undefeated but because he was white the media showed hardly any interest in him until the last couple of years of his career.
