Is alton towers ok for a 10yr old or are the rides a bit much, and is there anywhere to buy tickets cheep online?
Yes I'd say so if they are tall enough. Just google cheap alton towers tickets.
Of course! There are loads of rides aimed at younger kids if the major ones are a bit much.

Depends on the child really...just went to Disneyland Paris and was well chuffed went my 6 year old went on Rock N Roll rollercoaster (launch rollercoaster like Rita King of Speed) and Tower of Terror without any concerns at all...the only thing holding him back on some rides was the height restriction. As long as they are over 140cm, should be alright for rides
My brother just took my son to Chessington and bought the tickets from Lastminute at a decent discount although there's normally lots of vouchers around. WHSmiths were handing out 2 for 1 recently
There are lots of rides at Alton Towers have a 120cm restriction, I think it's only a couple of the bige scary ones that you need to be 140.
It's ace for all ages I reckon.
I went for the first time when I was 10. I loved it.
But, I think it does depend a lot on the child.
There's plenty to do besides the real white-knuckle rides though.
Moneysavingexpert.com for cheap AT tickets
we went to alton towers a cuple of weeks ago...and my 11 year old thought it was fantastic.... as he went on a few rides that i didnt !!!
there is something there for everyone
GO ENJOY
I would have thought that Alton Towers was MADE for 10 year olds! Of course there are some more grown up rides too, but they need those to convince the dads to take the kids in the first place...
