Just back from a week in Costa Del Sol and for the second year running one of the group has had a wris****ch removed from their checked-in case. This time we checked in less than an hour before take off and the case arrived on the reclaim in Glasgow with the wee padlock removed.

Thing is, the watch was in with other jewelery which was still there as was the packaging which makes me assume it's some sort of safety issue rather than thievery.

I find it hard that every case on the plane was open and checked manually within an hour of takeoff. Is there some sort of machine that listens for ticking devices or are we dealing with lightning quick Spanish baggage-tealeaf's?

Don't know, but I have all jewellery and other valuables in my hand luggage.
