Hi my Airport express (this is my second in 6 years) has stopped working, it was only used as a wireless printer server for the home. Have tried all the usual things resetting switching it off/on, anyone got any suggestions(can it be fixed)? or do I have to put my hand in my pocket and if so recommendations for a good reliable printer server that will work with MAC 10.5.8 & 10.6.4 and WINDOWS XP & 7.

When I use the airport utility, if I reset it comes up but when I try to send change settings to it nothing happens it just sits there blinking yellow while I'm waiting for it to start up. 😥

From one of the many Apple forum threads on this problem.

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:

o The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
o You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
o One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
(ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)

If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation

Hope it never happens to mine.

The battle is over and yes I have come out victorious! Reset it couple of times with the ethernet cable plugged in, might not solve it next time see how we go! Phew...
