Just seen the advert for 'Mike Oldfield, The Collection', using Tom Baker (or John Culshaw) for the voice over. Thought it was a Vic n' Bob sketch.

Tubular Bells - Genius. Twisted genius, but still genius. May dig it out again tomorrow.

Yeah, but I won't be buying the 'album', not even if it is "ideal for Fathers' day".

Tubular bells - a work of serious okayness. Not offensive, would be ok as 'on hold ' music

It wasn't that it was an advert for Tubular Bells (which our progressive 70s primary teacher played to us and asked us to 'interpret' when I was 7) it was the fact that the ad was voiced over in the manner of a 'Mulligan and O'Hare' album ad that made it entirely spoofish. How can anyone consider using Tom Baker's voice on serious things any more? It's a parody of itself now. Shame, he was the best doctor until David Tennant.... now there's a geeky thread in the making...
