I would like to know how to transfer photos from my iphone 4 to my computer imac.
I can only see a way of putting them onto the phone through itunes.
and currently the only option is to use internet tethering to pair to my imac but that costs and I'm not paying £7 a month just to blue tooth items to my mac.
Also is it just me or is the general blue tooth ability naff on the iphone (phone to phone) data transfer.
don't get me wrong a great phone with a stunning interface but some areas are lacking such as blue tooth!
please help. cheers!
Forgive my innocence, why can't you use a standard cable?
If you've got iPhoto the imac should pick up any new photos as soon as you plug in the phone. If you haven't got iPhoto (and I thought it was free with all imacs) then try something like iphone explorer.
I had a program on my old iPhone that when you started it, it gave you an IP address. You typed this into your internet browser and it gave you access to all the media files on the phone, kind of like a wireless FTP client/server thing. No idea what it was called, but it sounds like what you need.
Something like this: http://www.veiosoft.com/
or this: http://www.savysoda.com/WiFiFTP/
Not the one I used, but similar in theory.
Check out PhoneDisk - allows you to navigate around your iPhone's folders like Windows Explorer. Free to try then $10.
Start iPhoto, connect your phone with the cable. When iPhoto asks if you'd like to import, click yes.
Picasa will also import pics.
Also, I found out yesterday, Preview will do it as well.
Applications > Preview
Then, with your iPhone connected, hit File > Import from *Your iPhone Name*
thanks guys !
