rude answers aside, the mrs and I normally take a weekend away from the kids and ride somewhere for a weekend , have done a few c2c and the like and loads around dartmoor, given we don't want to take too much time for travelling does anyone have any fun suggestions? It doesn't have to be cycling but with an element of challenge.

Physical challenge or just something a bit different, like hiring a narrow boat?
Where do you live, that'll help with travel time. I could get to the airport and be in another country faster (and probably cheaper) than I could get to Wales or Scotland. Good hiking in Tenerife and the Baleirics.
