I’ve only been on zwift 4-5 weeks.  This is the basic set of jerseys I got (top 2 rows apart from top right which was via a challenge). The ones on the bottom row are vintage and I also have the camo set, that’s all.

Right, if you can't get the red and black then the hares can ride in the Zwift grey, top centre of your image. Everyone should have access to that.

Got the invite & accepted, ta.

I'm gonna most definitely be a Hare. Looking forward to this one (I think!).

So, we have a jersey - the grey one. Assume the bike can be any we fancy?

Looks like about 20 in so far so a decent turn out. Hopefully at least 12 hares and 6 hounds!

I did a bit of course recon yesterday. It is going to be tough to stay away I think with the hills. If the hounds catch before a decent time has elapsed we should regroup as a SWARM and complete the ride together I think.

Not sure what handicap is appropriate for this ride but I can see the hares getting caught on the climb back out of the jungle section at around 40 minutes.

Yeah, regroup then cruise towards a sprint finish seems best.

I've gone with approx 10% of a racing lap just to give us a benchmark really. If the hares can get to the top of the 2nd climb with 45secs plus I reckon we'll stay away.

Bike Choice - Decisions Decisions...

Swapping is fastest if you're quick in the garage...

I think keep the same bike for all people all the way through. Removes another variable and trying to stay as a group and swap bikes isn't going to work.

I'm in as a Hare, cat C (still smarting from consecutive WKG DQs in Cat D races). I'm doing Tour for All race tonight as well so will probably still be useless tomorrow afternoon.

Only minor concern here guys is Watopia.... it's a busy busy place at the moment.

So you won't be able to tell where everyone is easily.... I'd aguably go for a hilly route if you choose, but on an empty course.

Richmond has climbs, so does London and Innsbruck, so all could easily accomodate your choices in many ways, but with an empty course i think it will be easier to have a group and to have the ability to see where hares/hounds are.

Hi Ivan. I'm up for Tuesday. Can you ping me an invite (P Tunstall on Zwift)? I'm C (close to B according to ZP) so happy to go in either group.

Not sure if I can make this, but it does sound like fun...

I'm below a D, so I've signed up as a hare. May or may not make the start line.

So Richmond and New York are the guest worlds.

Yorkshire UCI could work as it has ups and downs? The hills aren't too steep and too long?

Edit: Or the short Innsbruck lap

yeah i think that works well to be honest, hilly enough for some climbing ability to kick in, but not too hilly to make it unfair and impossible for the hounds.

The temptation is massive mate... really is... but i ought to rest... I'm finding it hard after a day off yesterday, but we did a 10km walk so not sure that's helped the leg fatigue lol. But it's 10:35 am on the next day and i'm getting the shakes from not riding 😀

Haha I was going to put money on Weeksy being back after only one day, there is no way you were ever going to take 7 days off Steve 😉

Only thing with Yorkshire is its quite short, so would want 2 laps at least really, by that point you're into 450m of climbing which is a fair lump for those who don't climb!

Any how should be fun where ever we choose and what do I know?

Of course not - if he doesn't invite the hounds then the hares win! 🙂

@slowpuncheur - you'll need to follow me on zwift first then I'll be able to invite you.

Course-wise I reckon stick with watopia, it'll be busy but we'll be in small enough groups that it won't be too bad. Also, when you do a h&h on a lapped course you can work out the rate of closure too easily, if the hounds have taken 4 minutes from 6 in lap one then you know you're getting caught. On a single lap it's harder to judge so as a hare you keep pushing a bit more.

Come on Weeksy, you know you want to do it - think of it as tapering if that helps. ..

Phil56 - you've already accepted by the look of it, assuming you're "Phil Phil56" on zwift which seems a safe bet!

Went out and reprofiled the local jump area, well, only one of them...

not sure how much 'riding' it's classed as, but we had a laugh instead of Zwifting 🙂

New version of the companion app due out today will give the option to create private meet-ups meaning that you only get to see he riders that are part of your meet-up, Sounds great for STW rides.

Well I've ended up in the office this week so I'll have a commute in my legs tonight as well. Will have to see how that goes! Still it'll give me a clue as to how bad Thursday will be by the time I've got a few more days in too.

@slowpuncheur - sorted, you should have an invite.

We're now in "meet-up only" mode so the only people we'll see on the road will be our lot so there goes my idea of the hares jumping from draft to draft...

For the purposes of easy identification I think different jerseys and user names will still help so (STW Hare) or STW (Hound) in the user name as appropriate and Hares in the basic grey Zwift jersey and Hounds in the, now traditional, bumblebee ensemble.

If the hares are caught before 16km/10miles then we'll regroup for a steady run in to a sprint finish.

If the hares aren't caught at all then they can go for individual glory in a sprint.

If the hounds do catch the hares at some point after 16km they still need to get someone over the line first so if a hare can hang on and win the sprint then the hares still win...

That should cover most things, I'm sure we'll end-up cuffing it anyway!

Should be all set as a hare, hoping this earns me enough drops for my first frame upgrade.

If the hares are caught before 16km

I like your optimism Ivan but I think if we've closed 6 minutes in 16k we need to consider why we've not turned pro.

Still it'll be a challenge.

I think it would have to be pretty hilly and pretty intense, but i guess it depends how the Hares play it, if they stay as a group and ride as the slowest man, then maybe... but of course that depends how the Hounds play it and whether the strongest climber goes off in the attack or waits for the rest..

I'll be curious to know the end results etc
