What pressure are you running the RP23 at?
Propedal on or off?
I have been running 175 psi for my weight of 11 stone now for the last six weeks and have just re-adjusted to 185 psi the other day and now it feels alot better. At 175 psi I was using alot of travel, o ring about 5-7mm from end, but i think now with a bit more pressure the rear shock should be more sturdy. I guess you wil have to experiment and mess about with pressure to get the right setting. Will let you know how i get on.
Thanks - I'm heavier than you and not running much more pressure - still don't get full travel but the shock does seem to sag a lot into its travel
no problem jamesgarbett - You will just have to experiment really. How much pressure do you currently have in it? Its strange if your not getting full travel and you have alot of sag. How much pressure are you using and how much do you weigh?
Try using this video to set up the shock and let me know how you get on. [url=
RP23[/url] This gave me a good base to start from and now after six weeks im starting to fine tune the shock with pressure.
I pretty much run my weight [in lbs] as the shock pressure
Pro-pedal only goes on for long fireroad/tarmac slogs
About 190psi for my 14 stone kitted up. That's if my shock pump is accurate. Sag seems right at about 25-30% of the shock's length but the O-ring never goes to the end of the shock - maybe I just need to rider harder/bigger!
Im around 11 and half with my full kit on and was getting full movement at 175psi. Not rode my 575 properly at 185psi yet. The only reason i have increased pressure is i think i was using to much travel and dont want to damage the shock.
Its strange that your running 15psi more than me and weigh more than me and not getting full travel. I ride pretty hard when im out with odd drop offs here and there and always get near full travel. Whats your riding style like? Are you mostly sat on the saddle or mostly stood up when riding?
I would phone Purple Mountain and ask them nicely, the 575 I hired there felt perfectly set up.
I'm about 13 and a qtr stone kitted up and run 195psi. I use propedal 2 most of the time except on long downhills. Used to run less psi based on measured sag opposed to rider weight but didn't feel right.
