Just ordered the new 12-speed XT upgrade kit from R2-bike which should be here in a day or 2.
Just wondering if there are any set-up tips from those who have fitted it already?
Going from Saint/XTR 10-speed so know my way around Shimano in general..

Cant really help you with set up but does it matter what chainring you run on this set up? Been told using the newest XT rings is 'advised'...
its a piece of piss to setup , far far easier than the eagle it replaced, and a million times more consistent and smoother

Very easy - just like any other drivetrain you've ever used. Only 1 thing is different and that is the mech cage has a line embossed on the back of the 'front' plate, with 51T written next to it. Line that up with the 51T cog when in 1st gear to set the b tension and well, thats basically it.
I have used shimano and eagle rings. Both work, but the Shimano 12 speed is definitely quieter due to the narrow chain.
I’d say leave all links in chain to begin with.
