It's the weekend ride picture thread again.
Show us your ride pics and a few words to go with them.
Solo ride this morning.
Temperature is starting to drop a bit (6 degree for most of the ride) but it's still pretty wet and windy out there.
Was like riding on a big ginger carpet in places with all the dead pine needles on the floor.
Secret day off. Had planned on doing Ben Ledi, but could see from the M80 that the top third of it was under snow. Comrie Croft to the rescue.
Today was sooooo miserable - wet AND cold AND windy. I couldn’t force myself to bother get the bike dirty. I went for a trail run instead. That one sentence should communicate my disgust - “a trail run!”
@singlespeedstu - how are you finding the new Stumpjumper 15? You ride a lot so wondered if you’d share your opinions!
Happy to answer any questions you have on the PMs.
Not really sure anyone else is interested in my thoughts of the bike thought.
I'm not one for spouting bollocks about stuff that's irrelevant to anyone else's location and bike preferences.
Fair enough, it turns out my brother has pulled the trigger on one anyway. So hopefully I’ll be able to have a go at some point.
I'm quite happy to answer any questions for you.
Just not on a picture thread about riding other than to say it's taken me while to get it set up to my liking for everything, but I'm now pretty happy with it.😎
Not much of a ride today but a ride nonetheless.
25km round trip to a cafe for lunch then a couple of sherberts on the way home.
Bit of a wet one today, but it was either this or a road ride in similar conditions which I didn't fancy 🙂 first time here in a while and my riding has progressed enough to actually enjoy it now, finally clearing all the blue jumps and the first on the red, even got a bit schralpy round the berms which I've never done before. Probably just the combo of the wet + a Nobby Nic on the rear but I'll take it.
Today was much better than yesterday. The trails are still a boggy mess, but at least it didn’t lash down all day.
Last 2 days here in Leeds have been grim, didn't fancy a ride yesterday or today, but got out for a trail run which I enjoyed lots. Very familiar trails, but taking it at a slower pace with time to stop and appreciate the small details ..
Visibility not the best!
Bit of a mixed bag down here on the South Downs. The bridleways are holding up ok, but some of the trails are at their worst as the ground is still pretty firm with a greasy layer on top, so tyres aren’t digging in and just sliding. Much like I did when I went straight through a corner and ended up on the trail behind sliding head first into the berm.
No riding for me today. It's only really just stopped raining in Leeds a few hours hence - probably a good 36 hours rain - I can't remember the last time we've had continuous rain like that.
Started some spannering. Turning a gravel bike (pickenflick) into a winter road bike with proper full mudguards and sorting out some shifting issues.
Went on a steady trail run - really enjoyed it! Muddy obvs. and, oddly, quite a few trees down over trails - it was a bit of an obstacle course.
Some puddles have re-appeared on Roundhay park soldiers field that I have seen since about February. Everything soaked.
Came home continued spannering. The workshop stereo is the best in the whole house, bodged together out of the ICE install in my old Skoda Fabia - must have been 15+ years since I sold that car. Still sounds mint. Listened to some ragga jungle REALLY REALLY LOUD.
Almost finished spannering. Just got brakes to bleed but I can't find the right bleed kit.
Really pleased with how it's turned out - looks reyt classy. Particularly happy with the full mudguards install as they're bodged on with p clips and zip ties, but looks neat and they seem really stable.
Decent 👍
Didn't get out for my usual Friday headclearer for Claudia reasons, but Mrs Noise was on a spa day today and I spotted some 'shrooms last Sunday that needed a revisit in the dark with some lights and a camera so a quick Saturday evening local spin it was. Just a bit of mizzle remaining from the recent weather and the trails were oddly not as wet as I'd expected (except for a high proportion of greasy sniper roots).
Been feeling the start of a cold last couple of days too so a bit of a test for the legs and lungs too, but all seemed OK apart from a vast amount of snot rockets being produced.

Yesterday morning was soooooo hot and humid my heart rate was way higher than normal. Stupid riding mate chose all the wrong trails because he forgot he wasn't on an ebike, so I was too cooked to take photos.
Then the rain started. 24 hours later it's still raining.
All you folks going for a run instead of riding your bikes.
Can I suggest starting your own Weekend Run Picture Thread so you don't pollute the Ride one. 😘
Things are getting a bit damp and messy around here and the light's been poor lately, so I haven't been taking many photos but there are still mushrooms.
Lap of Harewood estate on the gravel bike - it had drained reasonably well but a fair old bit of slop obvs. Was great to get out.
Proper oldskool XC this morning.
A loop taking in some local bits of The Southern Upland Way.
A huge contrast heading away from the Tweed Valley rather than towards it.
35km/800meters.
What does pumpkin fed sheep taste like?
Trails on Cavehill are stinking. Sometimes, autumn/winter biking here is a lesson in positive thinking (or ignoring common sense). But then the sun came out, and even the slop looked better.
Short Sunday morning leg turner round my 'other' local. More slick roots but surprisingly dry (relatively speaking) trails.
The sun was out at the Kielder TT earlier today. I finished mid-pack but in one piece and fun was had. As always at these events, meeting other riders was a much a part of enjoyng the day as the riding itself.
Sneaked in a ride at the end of the weekend last night. Stirling area. Trails surprisingly good despite the amount of rain over the past week or so - a bit of wind and sun dried out some of them, but still a lot of slop around! It was starting to solidify up top (400m+ elevation) with a few crunchy bits of grass and frozen over puddle, ride started off around 4degC, ending 2degC. Great to be out.
