HI Fed up with things rolling off my workbench stuff getting lost etc. So looking to by a rubber mat for overhauls. The Park OM-2 looks like the job but a lot of money for a bit of rubber. Any suggestions for low cost alternatives?

Presume you want something with raised edges to contain parts from that job?

How about sticking rubber sheet into an old tea tray?

Might do that myself actually.

I've got 2 door mats on my bench. Heavy with a tapered rubber edge and absorbent in the middle with big ridges to stop stuff rolling around.

I rubberise the benches we buy. 3 or 4mm rubber sheet, spray glue, plastic edging. Once you've done it you'll question why they don't just come that way.

I bought the biggest craft cutting mat that would fit on mine, it's been great as you can splice n dice on it and it's been helpful having measurements and angles to hand too. that and a magnetic bowl has worked wonders
