I have ordered twice now from Winstanleys on price - Hope Hoops (were in stock and recieved 2 days after order) and a Hope Headset (not in stock but received 7 days later). The last order was despached but after 2 days had not arrived. Thinking it was via PO was getting a little concerned as the post here is very quick. The CS lady replied to my email within and hour (suprised) and asked me to give her my postal address (to track it in the system). I replied and 15 min later she phoned me at work to say she had phoned parcel force (presume 48 hour service) and it had been delivered to me whilst I was enquiring.
I have heard a lot of bad stories about Winstanleys, and although the tracking online and email follow up is poor copared with outher sites I have been pleasantly suprised thought you most often only hear the bad things and not the good generally 🙂
My 13-yr old son has bought a fair few bits off them, reasonably priced and have always turned up when expected.
We had one part which had to go back and was replaced without fuss!
No issues at all.
My biggest beef with winstanleys is that they will often show stock on their website which is actually out of stock. This wouldn't be a problem if they told you immediately after ordering, but they just sit on your order until they get stock in, they don't tell you what's going on until you phone them.
I only order from them over the phone now so I can get them to double check stock there and then.
Seeing as we're on the case I had heard bad stories too. Nevertheless they were miles cheaper for Hope Hoops than anyone else so I took the plunge. They showed out of stock but I ordered anyways. They told me when they expected them and they also told me when they actually got and dispatched them. Total of about 5 days to get to the North of Scotland. Excellent service I think.
I also bought my son's BMX there at Christmas. They were the only place showing stock on the 2010 model. We phoned and they definitely confirmed it was the right model. A quick google showed horror stories of bikes supposedly in stock not arriving for months. A look at the boys face and and I thought sod it, if it doessn't arrive on time I've got nothing to lose, I'll just get it somewhere else and cancel order. It arrived 2 days later and was indeed the correct model. Nothing but praise for them so far then!
Agree. I've not bought too much from them but great, quick service for the few things I have, Including a whole bike.
I have used them if I am not in a great rush for parts then I am not bothered if they are not in stock unless I am waiting for more than 10 days. Has worked for me so far 🙂
Ordered all of my Chris King stuff from there and has always been cheapest and has always arrived within a couple of days. Haven't had any problems with them. All praise.
