With working all day the only time I get out is after 6:00 at night meaning I'm getting back at 8:00-9:00 at night so the next obstacle is trying to get to sleep and winding down,I find it hard to switch off,I don't drink so whisky is out of the question, thanks in advance.
I used to have the same problem when I had a sports training session 9-10:30pm one season. Nightmare to sleep after that as it was intense.
Hot full fat milk. Seriously!
Good recovery drink and it's very relaxing.
If your brain is still wired then try something like the Headspace app to calm it down.
Cheers Hugo,I'll try the lot and see what works best, nothing worse than not being able to rest.
Honestly? Headspace and a tug, works wonders.
Read a book and have a beer. Or listen to a podcast on your chosen subject, with beverage of your choice.
More conventional choices been reeled out,I like it
Have the same problem after having been racing track at night - max efforts at 10pm... pretty much all of the above as well as chamomile tea and herbal nytol.
I use a low-cost (presuming access to streaming audio) option which never failed me yet.
- Take 1 x vanilla-scented LED Moon Candle flickering candle light. All other lights out. Set on bedside.
- Open a jar of proper Tiger Balm (I go for the red stuff in the jar with the tiger on, or Temple Of Heaven Essential Balm, also red variant). Rub small amount under each nostril, also apply same to both temples
- Tune in to The Sasquatch Chronicles podcast. Low/medium volume. Best with headphones, but speaker works OK too.
Am usually out like a light in 3 mins!
Sometimes combine above with a Horlicks or Ovaltine.
go to the pub with your mates, have a laugh and a joke and a recap
when you get home, if you are tired go straight to bed and have a shower in the morning,
if you arent tired, run a badedas bath, go to bed with some cocoa and listen to
chamras saewataporn music: auruvaerasaenanikom.
if you still arent sleeping or not wound down yet, get up and service your bike and fall asleep at work
