After cracking the chainstay on my secondhand Whyte 901 frame, I'm looking for a frame to replace it as the warranty does not cover secondhand bikes :(.  Whyte don't sell frames on their own, so looking for an alternative that will have 148mm rear spacing and will fit a 130mm fork.

Have an eye on the Cotic Soul frame, as it seems to fit the bill, but pricey.

So looking/asking to see if there is anything else.

Cheers

Commencal Meta HT frame (2018 model less than 400 bucks)?

You might have to contact Commencal and ask if 130 mm is "enough" for the Meta.

Commencal has been emailed, but looks like it's for a 140-160mm.

Liking the Bird Zero, but sizes start from medium.  I'll need a small.

It might be worth ringing Bird to ask about sizing to check. Most of their frames have a low standover height and are deliberately longer than most. But then they have quite a steep seat tube angle so the stretch to the bars isn’t what you think.

The bike geo is very "slack" - wouldn't be worried about the head angle getting a bit steeper when using a 130 mm fork.

More critical: the BB drop. Think the Meta HT has quite a low BB. Not to suffer pedal strikes too often you might have to run the 130 mm fork with a little "less sag" then.

And then it's up to the fork: is your fork fun also with less sag?

If you get the Meta HT frame working: fun bike! Frame pricing is very good (some frames are always "in sale" at Commencal...).

Ah, just noticed, the Bird Zero AM Boost is 150 or 160mm fork, I need 130mm.
And the Zero TR is not boost.

But the Orange Clockwork 137 seems to fit the bill:

Depending how old the frame is, it might be worth contacting Whyte.

I know is SH, I've heard only good things.

The frame is still under 2 years old, but Whyte are not replacing it as it's secondhand.
They where going to try and source a frame for cost price.
I have heard nothing.

What model of forks? Can they not be extended, to more suit the suggestions?

Sonder Transmitter. Boost backend and 130mm fork from memory. It's designed for 27.5 plus but has a highish BB, so running some big normal 27.5 tyres could be spot on.

Airdrop bitmap? That takes a 140mm fork, with a boost back end.

Orange Clockwork 137. 148 rear end, for 130mm forks and cheaper than a Soul.
