Hey Chaps,

Who's fixed a sagging Reverb? Can't find any year down videos online - would love to see one to fix a friend's Reverb that has pulled air past the soil seal.

Cheers!

Ricks

All of the Reverbs I own have developed a bit of sag. Depending on the age, use and maintenance this can be caused by a variety of issues especially if it's still using the old IFP. Stripping & resetting the oil height sorts the problem but without addressing the cause the sag will soon be back. I'd suggest replacing any worn bushes, replacing the IFP with a blue or grey one then resetting the oil height. If you're using the Rockshox tool for setting the IFP double check online what the exact measurement is first. Some of the older tools aren't marked up correctly for the later posts.

I've done a few in the past. Think I used SRAMs own video on youtube. Couple of specialist tools and replaced the IFP for the new blue SKF one while I was in there.

I've done it twice, I think. It's not hard, just a bit of a faff. (you don't really need to "service" it, so I just reset them but reused seals etc. You should probably replace the IFP but frankly they're on at least version 4 now and none of the previous fixes have made any difference so I don't know if I'd bother.

Last time, i couldn't be arsed, so I got it done by a cheap online servicey service from ebay, think it cost £30 or so which is totally worth it.

The SRAM videos are good and easy to follow. I’ve used them to service the posts

Ha, guess you’ve worked out how to make it work despite the forum flakeyness 😀

BTW I have fixed a saggy reverb following that video. Not hard but I did buy the IFP height tool

Yeah, that brilliant help section that hasn’t been updated since the whole forum software was changed 😂

I've got a Reverb which was fitted to a 2014 Trek as OE. Despite having had very little use (I only got the bike at the beginning of the year and it was basically brand new (long story...)), it's got about a 12mm sag. I tried the quick fix in the video above but no difference. Will bleeding fix this or does it need a full service and/or replacement of the internals?

Sorry for the newbie question but dropper posts are 'new technology' to me! What is an IFP?

I'm happy with most servicing jobs so don't mind tackling it as long as I don't have to invest hundreds in specialist tools!

Easy job if you're confident of your spannering skills. There's air behind the IFP (Independent Floating Piston) it's a seal that separates the air from the oil. The post needs stripping and the IFP and oil height resetting. Takes about half an hour to fix following the SRAM vid.

Check on the SRAM webby what depth the IFP gets set to for your specific post. The tool for the early posts has a mark on it that says "Stealth" this may not be the correct setting for later longer stealth droppers.

+1, used Rebound Sus on Ebay, was cheap and they did a great job.
