...that will stand up to some fast rocky descents and keep mud out of my contacts without snapping off and falling into my front wheel? Pics would be good. Cheers.

Don't bother cos they are hideously ugly! 🙂

Seriously though, I find a crud catcher type thing on the downtube and one of those neoguards on the forks stops almost all the crap flying up into your face.

I know what you mean about the looks but i am sick of not being able to see halfway down a section that took me half an hour to climb up to due to mud in my eyes. With contact lenses they keep the grit on your eyeball. Glasses are no good at this time of year and I have tried the neoguard thing but with the forks having a rear facing arch the thing is too far back over the wheel to have any effect. Last resort... Front Fender 🙁

The SKS ones seem to work fine. I've had a couple over the years. As the RC41s have a reverse arch, you might actually be limited in your options anyway. Luckily SKS do one for Manitous which should fit.

Mibbe not the best photo, but.....

TBH - I've since moved on to a Cycraguard (downtube mount)and Neoguard mix.

If you're determined to try the SKS type, let me know. I should have all the bits in the garage still and I'm sure we could come to some deal!

Either a 'THE' fender, but IME a bit or inner tube on the forks works just as good but alot cheaper.....Neoprene ones are available.

I've actually got a couple of THE fenders for sale (they wouldn't fit my 'zocchi forks)

Black wide DH one, or blue narrow XC one.

If you want a cheap one to try, email me:

My 'Zocchi one is subtle but wont fit your works. Works really well too.
