I brought the 661 pressure suit in the crc sale for £110. It's the blue and black one. Very impressed so far. Very comfy and well ventilated. I'm 6'1 and went for the Large. I had a hard fall at BPW on a rock garden at speed over the bars and never felt a thing. Hope that helps

I've got a slightly older 661 assault suit to sell- had to replace it as race rules wouldn't allow a soft back protector. It's a medium... Give me a shout if interested.

I like the assault suit type with just torso and shoulder armour- means you can add your own elbow/lower arm armour to taste, so I can use my IXS Hammer suit with my POC elbows. Makes getting a perfect fit much easier.

I always used to use the Brand-X suits from CRC. Really impressed in the main. When it fell apart after several years I got a 661 for cheaper...

I've got a 661 comp pressure suit, but at 6'5" I find it a little short in the body and so spend far too much time pulling it down and faffing with the kidney belt, so will be replacing it with an evo pressure suit, which doesn't have the kidney belt to faff with!

Just wrap an old mattress round you soft lad and you will be fine.

Or do what I do and stock up on the white pudding to help you naturally absorb the impacts.

I can use my IXS Hammer suit

That's on my short-list, I take it you rate it? Thanks for the offer of the other one but i'm between a large and XL in size so no good size-wise.

Also on my short-list is Bluegrass Grizzly (B&S), Fox Titan and the

661 pressure suit in the crc sale for £110
.

If all else fails, i'll pack in as much whote-pudding as i can between now and my visit to BPW so I have so much in-built protection so as to not need to buy anything.

Re the Hammer, I like it but the back protector's massively bulky and turns me into a hunchback. But it was good value and fits me brilliantly otherwise so it's a bit give and take. Can't really recommend it unreservedly but as long as you don't mind the bulk it's good. 661 offerings probably better all round, but more expensive.

Thats the spirit.

Northwind, your up in Scotland arn't you? Can you send some White Pudding down for Patriot please. He only has a month to get prepared so as much as you can will be grand.

NW - how does the Hammer feel ON the bike, comfort and mobility wise? I can cope with the hunchback-look and feel OFF the bike as long as it's comfy and maneuvorable on it, what would you say?

ache - are you using your 'natural' body-armour or buying some?

PS - Whilst i'm on - what say for armoured shorts (sub £50)?

I don't really feel it when it's on. Heat, sure, but not any restriction on riding. (it can be difficult getting jerseys on over it!)

TBF though that should be true of any half-decent suit these days. So I guess what I'm really saying is, it's not outstanding or anything.

I've a large 661 presseure suit, black with purple seams. Im 6ft and 15st and could probably have dropped down to a medium. If youre interested let me know.

Ive also got the basic 661 soft armoured shorts, theyre great. Just a shame they dont have a chamois for all day comfort.

I find it's the unplanned crashes that are the worst. Is mindmap get suited up do you know?

i've tried a brand-x suit and it just didn't fit me right at all. might be that i have an odd build but either way it didnt feel right. Cheers all the same though.

So your planning on crashing?

I doubt mindmap will wear any armour. Knee pads and a full face is pretty much what both of us are wearing.

Oh yes absolutely, need to get money's worth out of the stuff I'm buying otherwise what's the point...

Broken banjo, that is too funny, I take it the sword is included or is it extra... 😀 would be useful for jousting in the car park afterwards...

Ps bought the Fox Titan in large. Just need to get the shorts now; Bluegrass Wolverine anyone??
