[Closed] Where to promote the BBB? Not here obviously

Last couple of weeks before the BBB and still around 100 tickets to sell.

Where do you reckon the best place to promote it is?

I think this site has been pretty much swamped and I really do appreciate the tolerance of the Mods on that, beer tokens available when you turn up.

I was thinking of Swinley Forest car park on Sunday with more flyers. Any other suggestions welcome.

Oh, check out BBB if you haven't got your tickets yet.

Hopefully this will be the last BBB post pushing tickets before my (agreed) forthcoming ban

You need to read my email I sent you yesterday....

Can't see why the mods would be upset at you for promoting an event where all money raised goes to a charity to help deprived children.....

where's the facebook "like" on the frontpage? isn't this supposed to be spread by virtual "word of mouth?" I'll have to link it on my facebook to my Oh-so-many cycling friends manually then ๐Ÿ™„

All bike shops within about 40 miles of Southampton done.

Don't read elfins email. Send it again and i will turn off the send to trash filter.

Cyncical - I will email you a PDF

Neils - we filled up but there were a few freebee hangers oners that we could replace with proper people this year.

We have a little more camping space and 3 whole new purpose built bike tracks we can use this year so the capacity has increased a little. Still restricted to keep it as a party.

Cheers Luke.

Most of the Radio and local rags will only publish the news on the day, not in advance.

Might try publicising Big Maggy turning up. he is a proper name so might get it pin the poaper a few weeks early.

How about targeting Moors Valley and a lesser known attraction the extreme cycle park! got to be worth a punt.
Also target some of the pubs that are along the main cycle routes.
Also maybe hit a few of the new forest campsites/activity centers and maybe some major supermarkets that get lots of foot fall from familys.
I cant make it this year i'm moving but you never know..
Twitter and facebook advertising has got to be done these days, you of all people would have a fairly interesting twitter feed i recon.

Print up something and laminate it and stick it up where family peeps go riding . HAyling Billy Trail, QECP , Meon Valley railway line , Alice Holt , Farley Mount.
Anywhere flat , dull and boring tends to attract tag alongs and family groups

Want mountain bikers as well as families but i might laminate a few of the flyers to distribute about the place.

Just because the BBB is family friendly doesn't stop it being a proper biking event.

ask people last year how good the trails are. Unlike MM and similar these are permentant year round trails and largely singletrack rather that 10 foot wide 'tracks' through grass fields.

I can post a band line up when back home on Monday and speak to Stephen who is organising it but from memory it is:
Red India - local lads from brockenhurst/bransgore, indie stuff with punk/joy divison type sound
Jo Oldfield - folky soloist
Foul Geese - middle aged blokes from Deptford, weird electronica with a great stage presence
Bakstreets - 2 brothers but not sure what they are like
Black Circles band - all in black and sounded like the Queens of the Stone age I re-call when listening to their myspace site a few weeks ago.

Got some great prizes lined up from new sponsors
