Where is the best place to buy spokes from? Price / service?
Also, what is the "best" spoke calculator out there?
There seems to be quite a few around, some seem OK from a usability point of view, some outdated, some just plain hard to use.
I've had a look at the DT calculator and it looks quite good but I read somewhere about people getting "wrong" values (or is it just the fact they are putting the wrong info into it in the first place?)
Interested on anyones thoughts...
Cheers
Not exactly answering the question but I went to an LBS, fella measured spokes with a ruler and still sold me two spokes the wrong length - chump - fitted them but not as much thread in the nipple as there should be.
Mail order from rose.de is good if you want quite a few and odd amounts of different lengths. They will also send you crap catalogues for eternity though.
Dt's calculator is spot on.
I get spokes from Ride On
I use 'spocalc.xls', a spreadsheet based database of hub and rim dimensions with integrated calculator created by Damon Rinard. I find it very flexible and more accurate than the DTSwiss calculator and of the measurements I have been able to check against the hardware have been accurate. Screens [url=

It's free to use and distribute and available on tinterweb.
I get my spokes from chainreaction after my LBS's price doubled...
I actually meant 'Pedal On' when I posted though they're not as cheap now seemingly
