Not one for listening to choons while riding, but anything by the prodigy wouldn't go amiss.

I like to listen to a bit of Ludwig Van's 9th whilst terrorising a bunch of walkers with my droogs.

I was paddling out in rather large conditions last sat (head and a half to double, closeout sets rolling through and oblitterating everyone on a beachy). the one song that stuck in my head as I started each duckdive was the line

'hello darkness my old friend..
I've come to talk with you again'

(yeah, its simon and garfunkle. I just tried to google a credible cover version and failed)

Whenever I'm riding like Wade Simmonds (in my head) I like to imagine I'm listening to

The segment of The Collective is still my favorite bit of any MTB video, proper lovely smooth riding which the music goes with brilliantly.

Takes a while to drop (2:36), but it does give me one of those euphoric / 'in the present' moment when I don't think about anything else.

Vinneh - Really good song, do like that.

For me. Fleetwood mac - Go your own Way.

Just remind me of SITS and Mayhem, and the end of 24hours of pain.

Not so much for biking, but psyching up for big river stuff it was always Bodies by Drowning Pool. The irony of that did not escape me.

Biking it's quite often Apocalyptica (Path vol. II or Nothing Else Matters) or Afro-Celt Sound System (North or Release)

I once did a 40+ mile ride around Calderdale and Rochdale. I stopped off in Hebden and had a couple of pints and then rode up towards Stoodley Pike and over towards Littleborough. Decided to have another pint at the White House pub before the (as was) lovely downhill towards the lake. I turned my mp3 player on and AC/DC's Highway to Hell erupted from the 'phones, soon realised why when i drifted 'tween two rather large boulders that had been place on the BW to prevent vehicles - according to my 'puter i went through that bend at over 30mph and travelling sidways!!!

Had to sit down afterwards as my legs had turned to jelly with the thought of what might have been - the gap between the rocks is only about 6" longer than my bike! ๐Ÿ˜†
