M8 needs a new rim for his Levo, as the Traverse rim has dented nicely. So not specifically look for this week bargain, but where/what should he be looking for a decent replacement rim? (Stans/DT swiss, WTB...)
His current rim in a 29er, 30mm internal width, if that matters. I assume DT's XM481 or HX531 would be a good choices, but what else is worth looking at?

If DT Swiss are in budget and available in the right size/drilling, then I'd look no further, to be honest. EX511 a good option in 30mm.

ex511 if they want 30mm or ex471 if they want 25. That being said how did they ding the rim. Too low pressure and no insert.

Lowish pressure and no insert... that said this is hardly a new trail, we just trying harder that time. Cool, so the EX511 sounds good, any cheaper alternatives worth considering?

Yeah but you wrecked the insert 😉

Still if Gwinn can finish with no tyre at all ...

2x 471's on eBay (new buy it now <£50) and the moment and 2x511's at £60-£70

Stevextc, I’ve had a glance @ eBay, & I’m not seeing any deals on 511’s like that. Can you point me in the right direction?

I've got some Hope hubs going spare and was looking at rims. On CRC there's 2 Nukeproof rims for £35. The Neutron and the Horizon. I can't tell them apart but apparently 'developed by WTB' so might be worth a punt for the price.

I've already got ex471 for my Sunday best. I wouldn't mine something set up with lighter, faster tyres for easy days out.

Does anyone have any experience of them?

Really pleased with the Kinlin TL-29 (30mm internal) from Cycle Clinic for £40 each. 18 months and taken a bit of abuse and are fine.

Could be re-badged WTB ST series, and if so I would avoid them personally.
Unless they'll have a very easy life and you don't mind the weight.

If you can't stretch to the DT EX 511 there's always the E 532 which is the cheaper, eyeletted, sleeved version.

DT are pretty expensive but consistently excellent, won't necessarily be the best but definitely won't be a mistake, put it that way
