[#265039]

So, here's my setup: an on-one carbon fork with a hope mono mini (no. 3) caliper attached to it, the front wheel is an XT hub (centrelock) with a 180mm hope floating rotor secured by a DT Swiss 6-bolt adaptor...

Now, here's my problemo: when I secure the wheel by tightening the QR it pulls the hub and rotor right up hard against the fork leg, so hard in fact that the wheel won't spin... Any ideas what's going wrong here?

cheers 🙂

Sounds like your bearings are too tight?

Try loosening them a bit

xt hub eh, is the hub body central on the axle - it's easy to put it back together slightly over to one side on the threads on the axle after taking it apart and it only needs to be slightly off to allow the rotor to rub on the fork legs

(as you can probably guess, you can "bodge" a solution by moving the hub body across a bit to cure the problem, even if it isn't off to one side to start with)

it might be the centrelock adaptor though - they can leave the rotor slightly further out from the hub and it only needs a couple of mm to foul the fork leg

I swapped a 180mm standard rotor for a 180mm floating one, that seems to have caused the problem. I guess the floating component of the rotor makes it thicker than a standard one?
