Via an Enduro 29 with oem flat bars but was thinking of putting a slightly higher rise on but it seems like a big no no to have a riser bar on a 29er.

Interested to see what's working for you..

Discuss....

10mm; -10 deg slammed stem. Still higher than the 26er it replaced but not bothered enough to go for the eg. Niner negative rise bar.

Any lower, and my brake levers will hit the top tube. I run them as low as I can get away with.

I use a flat bar with 0 degree stem - but there again my 29'er is a fully rigid XC singlespeed - which may have a bearing on it. I only use 10mm rise bars with 0 degree on my Enduro 26" bike as well - so I may not be best person to answer...

Can you add spacers below stem to give10mm/20mm rise in bar height? Personally I don't think it should be a problem at all if adding rise work for you. Change bars or spacers which ever is most practical.

I have Nukeproof risers and a load of spacers on mine. It has yet to explode.

Do whatever you want. Blindly following others is for fools.

Easton havoc carbon 750mm.

But I'd go 770 or 780 if I'd already had one.

38mm risers with 15mm spacers on my Sultan but I have a couple of slipped discs which make this a necessity. Does make the front want to run wide on flat corners unless you really get your weight forward, would run them lower if I could and still walk the next day.

Flat with a -6 degree stem. No spacers under. Prefer a low front end, but the brakes do hit the top tube, so run them loose enough to spin and 3 layers of helitape on the top tube at that point.

I use these, no problem with risers on a 29er, we're not all XC racers are we; they're light, strong and a comfortable shape I think. Also an absolute bargain price at the moment.

I have on Rocky Mountain element 29er at different times

flat 720 Easton on a 60mm 10 degree stem and bar ends, so really 740.....all day long way ride up and over things, fall off get up carry on

780 10mm Answer bars on same 60mm stem ...............all day long way ride up and over things, fall off get up carry on,.

I like both usually move to wider bars as a change.....find less than 700mm not pleasant at all

Whatever it takes to get the bars roughly level with the saddle. That's 40mm risers and 10mm spacer on my (Large) Solaris. If my legs were two inches shorter I guess that would be a flat bar and no spacers though.

The reason 8 asked is I just seem to be leaning forward ( xc pose) too much for my liking putting excessive weight on the outside of my palms. I was thinking of a riser-bar to move me up ( and rear-ward when in attack mode) a bit. Was thinking of the On-One Chewy Knucklebar to reduce trail-Buzz but the width isn't enough...are there less stiff Carbon bars out there...Renthal, Nukeproof etc?

Thoughts..

-6deg stem 10mm spacer on top and 15mm rise (lowest cheap 780mm bars I could find)

I did have the stem the other way with all the spacers underneath for a bit, but wasn't any more comfortable and had much less front end confidence.

0deg stem, 5mm rise bars and 15mm headset spacers. It puts the bars pretty much level with the saddle at optimum pedal position.
