I think Trek are worried that Di2 compatibility would take sale from a the carbon model which is 3 times the price.

Check out these: https://standert.de/

High end scandium. About £1000, which is pretty flipping posh for alu to me.

Dedaccai tubing, made in Italy. Like a German Condor.

Mate worked on one in shop (in Rotherham!) and thought it was well made.

I don't love a 44mm headtube) on road bike (pref straight 1 1/8 or tapered) but otherwise lovely

I've got a CAAD12 and to be honest find it a bit under whelming. I had a CAAD9 before and that was much more fun. The 12 feels sluggish and bland.

Its the 105 disc model, with hunt Mason wheels set up tubeless with hutchinson fusion tyres in 28mm with clip on mud guards.

However, I got the 12 as a training bike so its generally a bit grubby, and its probably unfair for me to compare as my good bike which is a BMC Teammachine slr01 from 2011 that weighs 6.6kg as you ride it, in basically pro spec. The 12 is a tank in comparison, not sure what it weighs, but must be 8kgs or more.

At least with di2 you won't need to try and re cable it.

I've got a CAAD12 (rim brake) which weighs somewhere just under 7.5kg. Rides nicer than the Emonda ALR I used to have. That rode nicely too but felt just a little bit softer under power. CAAD12 rides nicer and handles better than than the carbon road bikes I've had and have too. Wish I could find that feel in an alu disc road bike but I doubt the CAAD13 is it from what I've read.
