I recently got this bike and need a new seat post as im to big for the frame.

Im not quite sure what size i need. Bikepedia say its a 30.4mm seat post depending if its a 1997 model.

I kind find much decent evidence online so was wondering if anyone new the year of this bike or even better the seat post size.

I look forward to your input.

Cheers

It's a fairly old one....

Best thing is to firstly see if the one you have has a size marked on it, then failing that measure it with digital calipers! 🙂

I'd say 1995/6 - I have the Comp A1 FS which I got in 1996? Same Manitou Spyder R's on it so it much be close and its steel - went over to Alu from the A1 model but I think they still made a steel version.

Is that the 'Nitanium' one? I used to have the 97 steel one, in red. It was ace.

Shame, this is the only pic of mine. It's a 1997 A1 Comp FS and yes it has a 30.4mm seatpost (I still have it!) I bought it new and sold it in 2008, ahh those happy days.

Didn't Specialized have the year model next to serial number on the bottom of the BB shell?
