I'm looking to build up a 29er frame, as i've signed up for a couple of 12hr solo rides possibly the no fuss relentless if i can fine a partner.
By question is from any one with experiance with this is, should i be looking at a steel frame ie inbred or Salsa El Mariachi with some 100mm forks or would there be a benefit to getting a lurcher or dirty harry or even a chinese import.
I wonder if a salsa spearfish would be better.
As bad as it it cheaper equals better for my pocket.
any information would be great.
From experience, the Dirty Harry is a really astonishing frame for the money and especially when on special offer.
Feels great and has compliance where needed. Good if wanting a hardtail, I am 6ft and rode a 19" one in matt carbon
My brother has a Salsa Spearfish and am jealous of him as that looks great in orange and rides super fast as a 80mm odd travel frame should but can I'm sure take punishment from the area he frequents to ride.
Trouble is Spearfishs' are hard to find and cost a lot new.
Which is it you're needing and wanting i.e. Hardtail preference that is comfortable and light to ride and attracts you as it's cheap entrance to carbon riding which is why I personally chose a Dirty Harry.
Or a full suss being nimble and slightly of sturdier nature being more of an all rounder whilst retaining it's marathon xc success...?
Only you can answer 🙂
If you're over 6ft this is cheap and certainly lighter than an inbred.
