611 and I pressed the button at exactly 1800, and took no more than 30s to fill everything in ๐Ÿ˜ฏ That was almost as nerve wracking as getting a solo entry to the puffer. Is there not a better system than this internet-speed lottery?

Yep, 455.

It seems to sell out quicker each year.

No.457, was delayed slightly by mini-me No.2 trying to climb the cooker then falling over backwards and SWMBO shouting down the stairs to establish what was going on, then being accused of ignoring her.......... does she not know how important this is ๐Ÿ˜†

Rider 179.

I actually thought the system this year was the fairest so far. Once you'd got through the first page where it asked you how many you were registering, you were guaranteed a place as long as you finished in under 5 minutes, so the speed of initially clicking was important, but the speed of filling out the form wasn't.

The only alternative is a Glastonbury/London Marathon style system of registering in advance and then randomly allocating places.

Hmm, just entered after seeing this thread- hadn't even realised it was that time again. No reminder email, haven't seen any advertising.
Given #904 @ 18:40- really surprised it wasn't sold out.

I'm 330. You'll spend a lot of time climbing fireroad, but there are lots of Rocky descents, so perfect bike would be short travel fs29. Tough ish tyres. I was fine on nn double defence rear and x king front last year. X king rear failed year before.

Good luck to all. I'm not in this year as I haven't entered and it's such a pleasure to be missing this bit, the fight with the Internet.

But could anyone offer any help with borrowing/renting a MTB tandem to do it with a mate on?

I'm in. Completely forgot about it, saw this thread and logged on to find it had sold out, but a note suggesting trying back in 10 mins in case people hadn't completed entries. I refreshed the page a few times and got the registration page complete with someone else's details. Deleted them, entered mine and bobs yer uncle. Sorry if it was you I bumped out.

Great to see that Frazz, Teg and the boys are still turning out sellout events though.

It's not climbing you want to worry about its the traffic on the downhill,
good fun, great atmosphere and that mug!

Burchy.
We missed last years too.
Which was a shame as it's such an awsum event.
But we'll be up In Scotcheggland again for a week of riding and birthday celebrations.
Besides that we have no more room in the house for all the caps, socks and mugs we've accumulated over the years.
Oh and we'll never reach the heady heights of still being on the front picture from the first one that still adorns the Mach trails promo leaflet thingy. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Shit we look young on that. ๐Ÿ˜

Is it time to trot this out again?
Trails are plenty wide for overtaking
No need to follow the rut that takes you to Aberystwyth tram shed. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not me this year. I've only missed 2 (the third and fourth one) since it started. I love it, but fancy less driving, more biking this Mayday so I'm going to the Lakes instead.

Although the words "world cup descent" make me tingle inside and grin like a cheshire cat. Hard decision to make.
