[Closed] What are the possible causes of SPDs coming unclipped too quickly?

Allen key bolt on the pedal is done up very tight, as tight as it can go I think

Is it that my cleats are worn, or that the springs in the pedals have worn, either or both?

Are there pedals you can buy which don't have this problem - Time ATACs for example?

They're done up as tight as poss but are now at the point where they unclip if I skid or bunnyhop and turn even slightly in the air

worn cleats. get new ones & try not to round the bolts when renewing them 😉

Sounds a lot like worn cleats to me.

It's worth splashing out on new ones, you don't have to pay a fortune just ask at your LBS is they have any spares. Mine cost me £5, far cheaper than the £15 Crank Bros want for their cleats.

Worn cleats,Mine started doing this,Just remember when you replace them,to undo the tension screw,Its embarassing when you are lying in a heap in the garden with both feet still on the pedals.

Question answered. Thanks.

One of the bolts is in fact rounded, unfortunately, but I'll make that my bike shop's problem...
