Possible Scotland roadtrip coming up. Would like to take the bikes, but the Mrs still needs very easy family grade stuff since she's still knackered post-birth. I know there's a flat trail from Ft Bill by the Loch, can you think of any others along those lines?

Plenty of family stuff in Scotland, but depends on where you are going and if you only want to ride at trail centres...

There is a really nice route round lochan na hearba near Laggan. 20 miles of doubletrack with very little climbing and very scenic.

Stoner - the first pic is at 1070 ft, so is the second.

The second pic is looking over to the valley you ride along.

On that route there is 130ft of climb ๐Ÿ™‚

It has to be almost completely flat at this point in time unfortunately... And I dunno where we're going yet, haven't planned anything ๐Ÿ™‚ Trail centres are not a requirement but I'd have thought most suitable spots would be waymarked family style trails rather than 'natural' stuff.

Molgrips - that route I posted is really very good and only one short climb But I just checked on MM - its more like 300 ft in 2 1/2 miles and the total round can be kept down to 14 miles.

i rode past the Rothiemurchus family route this morning, very flat and hard surfaced trails through woodland but with stunning views of the cairngorms if you are up Aviemore way

How about NCN 7 through Callander.

You can go out and back past Loch Venachar, or north past Strathyre and back (plenty of tea stops).

These are off-road routes with superb scenery. The Laid Inn does good grub too.

Seconded, and don't forget their own real ale and accompanying shop selling every ale under the sun. Hmmmmm.

Great glen way? Parts of it are very flat but would need to be an out and back ride i guess

Another vote for Rothiemuchas (spelling?), along the great glen out of fort william, Glen Feshie,

have a look in Kenny Wilsons Mountain Bike Guide, there is some good stuff of all grades to go at in all areas.

It was going to be me - however I've done no running or swimming lately so I may drown/die if I try it.... Bugger ๐Ÿ™

TJ - nice looking route but 300ft will be too much... Good suggestions tho ta.

Callander to Strathyre is very easy. Ditto along Loch Venacher.

Beware the Great Glen Way though that someone suggested above. It does have two or three pretty hefty climbs.

Rothiemurcus is nice, with easy trails round the forest, particularly Loch an Eilan.
