On of Barry Hoban riding his Pink Mercian.
Bernard Hainault with his broken nose.
Two memorable images from my era, but I can't find them anywhere.

Yep googled the correct spelling as well!
Looking at that pic Poulidor springs to mind, but it could be anyone.

Most Barry Hoban photos are in black and white, so how do you tell if he's on a pink bike?

Hinault won the 1985 tour with a broken nose. Google some pics of the end of that tour and he'll have his broken nose then.

Because I remember the old mags, metalic Pink Mercian and Super Record of course.
And I was after the image of Hinault charging out of his saddle with blood streaming down his face.
Doing a little arty farty project.

Oldgit that's King Kelly

Top one, with bloody nose looks like poulidor

I know the Hoban pic you're on about was when he rode for Gan. I got given a hand me down (woolen) replica of the top when I was a junior. Thinking about it it must have been really old, I got given it in the late 80's
